... that it takes an hour or two to decorate the house for Christmas, and a month or two to get it all taken down and packed? Every time I think, finally, it's all put away... I turn around and find a snowman magnet, or a Zach-made Santa, or an ornament the cats knocked under the couch. And the worst thing is that I perpetuate the situation by visiting half-off after-Christmas sales. And some of it I like so much that I don't want to wait till next year to put it up... so I say it's a winter decoration, and voila! I get a few months' mileage out of it. Such is the case with this star-shaped wreath... I resisted the urge to buy it before Christmas, so I got it for less than half price. Wahooee!!
And speaking of wreaths, check out my berry wreath! The idea was stolen, completely and totally, from Donna Downey's book Photo Decor. It has a photo from each of the first five years of Zach's life. It's one of the little things I'm doing to make our home more "us". I'm sure I wouldn't have gone to the trouble to make it if I'd had to go buy anything for it, but as I (embarrassingly enough) had ALL the supplies on hand, I put it together in less than an hour. And I like it.
