How many of you read that as "feeling guilty"? What? You assume that I feel bad for abandoning my blog the way I have? Well, yes, actually, a little. I'll be around a lot more soon, sharing some of what we've been up to.
But no, that's quilty, as in yes-I-finally-decided-to-buckle-down-and-figure-out-how-to-quilt-since-I-have-wanted-to-try-it-forever. And so now I can share this sweet little lap quilt I made for my sister Laura's birthday.
I love it more than I can tell you. I love it so much, in fact, that I'm going to make another with the same fabric combination for
myself... er, for us to use when we snuggle up on the couch to read.
I started with this gorgeous print from Lecien's Folklore line, and was lost on trying to find others to coordinate until I realized how many great colors are really in it. After I decided to broaden my color scheme, it came together pretty easily. And if I can forget about all the hours that it really takes to cut, piece, stitch, quilt, and bind one of these suckers... then I'll be jumping right into the next one.
