A quick little post to show some Halloweeny things before it's too late!
I am so not normally a teddy bear person, but I whipped up these teeny little guys from Sculpey clay a couple of years back, and they make me happy every year when I take them out of the box.
This year I decided to make Zach's costume from scratch, which frankly was crazy-hard to do. I have never before made something that was actually meant to be worn, and as I (ahem!) don't know how to use a pattern, I worked without one. He was King Peter of Narnia, in his battle gear. He originally wanted to be the fawn Tumnus, I think for the appeal of having goat legs, a tail, and horns. Um... yeah. It's probably just as well that he switched, for the sake of my poor so-not-a-seamstress nerves. (I just noticed that the last letters in "seamstress" are s-t-r-e-s-s. Appropriate.
But when all is said and done, I'm glad to have made this. And while Zach is less than enthusiastic about having his picture taken, he is thrilled with his costume. And that's all that counts.
