I am officially a Heart Gallery photographer! And man, I love it!
For those who don't know, the Heart Gallery is a program that uses professional photographers to do sessions of waiting children (children who need to be adopted). One portrait of each child/sibling group is selected to be displayed in a public gallery that travels around the state. This not only raises public interest in adoption in general, but most importantly... shows the personalities of those who are waiting to be adopted RIGHT NOW.
And let me just tell you... there are some amazing children out there. My first shoot was with a sibling group of four, and they were wonderful. I really, really wanted to pack them up and take them home. I wish I could show the images, but I'll share the link after they're posted online.
I have two more of these shoots in May, and the Gallery will be open to the public at Westfield Shoppingtown West County, June 18-July 13. We're going on Wednesday to the capitol building in Jefferson City to see some of the portraits displayed. I can't wait for it to be open to the public so these little ones will have a better chance to find homes!
